01The brief

For those who live
life above the line.

Alto is a meticulously designed immersion into alpine excellence. Helicopter arrivals, personalised itineraries, secluded luxury lodges — every element tailored.

The brand had to hold that standard before a guest ever reaches the mountain.

03Art direction

Built to let the
imagery breathe.

The whole visual system exists to support the photography. A clean Swiss sans, Swiss layouts and a monochrome palette — nothing competing for attention with the mountain.

What we were after was the feeling of actually being there on a luxury alpine experience: clarity and elegance.

Three Alto magazine covers on black \u2014 a skier in goggles, a mountain range with the wordmark, and an editorial spread reading Elevation, Curates, Elegance
The Alto Experience — editorial covers and spreads. Type sits out of the way of the picture.

Cover treatment: the linear wordmark reads as a lens over the image.
A booking confirmation screen reading You're going to the Alps! Booked! over a photograph of a skier
Even the confirmation screen keeps the same restraint.

04Applied

Monochrome,
and never quiet.

Black and white is the easiest palette to make boring. It stays interesting here because the line motif does the decorating — the same grooves that build the wordmark scale up into pattern, peaks and rule work across the collateral.

A black Alto shopping bag reading Welcome to alto, printed with line-drawn peaks and address details
Retail bag — the line system builds a mountain range without drawing one.
Two Alto business cards, one black with the outlined wordmark and one white with reservation contact details
Business cards: mark on one side, information set Swiss on the other.

05Digital

One line of type,
full-bleed mountain.

The site opens the way the brand should: a single promise over a single image, with the booking action close to hand and nothing else asking to be read.

Mobile carries the same hierarchy, not a compressed version of it.
The groove: the source of the wordmark, the pattern and the page rules.
